Welcome to Temple Sholom! We are a small congregation that thinks BIG! Dedicated to Tikkun Olam, we believe that we can repair the world--one small step at a time.  

 

We are welcoming and inclusive of all who seek a place to call their Jewish “home” no matter what their background or connection to Judaism might be.

 

Members of interfaith families and members of the LGBT Community have a welcome home in Temple Sholom.

Temple Sholom is a member of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) and participates in activities of the Reform Movement regionally and nationally.  We aim to meet the religious, educational, cultural and social needs of our members.

Our Strengths:

Caring and welcoming culture – One of our greatest strengths is the community that Temple Sholom provides. Our members feel a sense of belonging and connection to other Jews, which is particularly important given the small number of Jews in the area. We provide an anchor for our congregants, including interfaith families, whose non-Jewish members feel especially welcomed and accepted.

Lifelong Learning – Our education program is unique in its inter-generational approach. Children of varying ages, their parents, and other adult members of the community attend our Jewish Journeys program on Sundays and together learn about Jewish traditions and values. We have a longstanding tradition of post-B’nai Mitzvah teens teaching in our after-school Hebrew program. We also have a number of adult education classes, including Torah study and book groups, which provide valued intellectual, spiritual, and social connections.

Volunteerism – We have a dedicated group of volunteers who know many of the member families and are active in committees, education, worship, and other aspects of Temple life. Temple Sholom is fortunate to have members who can be relied upon to help with day-to-day operations as well as holidays and other celebrations.
